Why a Blog?

“Writing is medicine. It is an appropriate antidote to injury. It is an appropriate companion for any difficult change.” — Julia Cameron

For as long as I can remember, I have loved reading and often times spin stories of my own. Creating characters and storylines in both my dreams and my waking life. This has grown a deep desire in me to write a book, to see those characters come to life. Although exciting this can be quite daunting, which has led me here. They do say practice makes perfect but its more than that.

Practicing allows us to refine our abilities and build a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise. It enables us to gain confidence, improve our problem-solving skills, and enhance our overall performance. By consistently engaging in deliberate practice, we can overcome challenges, adapt to new situations, and continually grow and improve.

Speaking of growth… like many I suffer from anxiety, and sometimes it’s just down right debilitating.

Of course I have tried all the coping mechanisms - deep breathing, holding something cold, exercise, good sleep, good diet, and therapy. However what I have been unsuccessful at is doing all of those things consistently. In this, I know that I’m not alone, and neither are you. My hope for this blog is that it will act a somewhat of a therapeutic journal, while also helping me to form the habit of consistency. Writing can be a powerful tool in managing anxiety and can provide a sense of catharsis and self-expression.

So why a blog?

By documenting my own journey towards anxiety management, towards self improvement, towards finding purpose, perhaps I may inspire and support others who are facing similar challenges. If nothing else, I intend to inspire and support myself.
